The Oratory Foundation instills in every child the truth that he/she is an instrument of purpose.
At the preliminary level, students between the ages of 7 – 10 years are trained in choral speaking, poetry in performance, poetry writing, and dramatic monologues. Through the fundamentals of oral interpretation students will improve in the areas of oral expression, creative writing, articulation, and enunciation. They will also have a deeper appreciation of dramatic performance.
We are extremely happy that we are now back to our in person training sessions with our Preliminary classes.
Our new intake commences on Saturday 13th January 2024 at 10am.
Send us an email at email@example.com giving your name, telephone number, your child’s name and age and we will contact you with further details. If you had previously registered, there is no need to re-register as we will be in contact with you. We certainly do hope to hear from you soon.
Poetry writing and performance are heightened at the Advanced Level of training in The Oratory Foundation. The prevailing theme in this module is an understanding and appreciation for the Caribbean region.
As such poetry topics and dramatic performances and choral speaking revolve around this theme. Students learn panegyric poems, patriotic poems and personification.
The module culminates in a performance competition where students dressed in Caribbean attire perform before a judge.
At the Oratorian level, the highest level, students are expected to complete four (4) modules. Each 10 week module embraces a specific goal.
The first module is an introduction to William Shakespeare while the other three modules have the students immersed in poetry and performance on the rich history of Trinidad and our sister isle Tobago.
The Intermediate class is geared towards students ages 11 –16 years. These students are trained in poetry, debating, public speaking and dramatic performance.
This class comprises four 8 week modules with the aim of enhancing proficiency in the oral arts. It entails actual debating competitions, public speaking exercises, choral speaking and competitions with poetry in performance.
Our Intermediate classes are currently being held utilizing the Zoom platform.
We are pleased to announce that our next Intermediate class is now scheduled to commence on Tuesday 16th January 2024 at 4.30pm.
